Blue Beetle is a superhero identity shared by several characters in the DC Comics universe. The most well-known is Jaime Reyes, a teenager from El Paso, Texas.

Jaime discovered a scarab, an ancient piece of alien technology, which bonded to his spine and grants him a powerful exoskeleton. This living suit of armor can manifest weapons, shields, and flight capabilities, all controlled by Jaime's thoughts and emotions.

Prior to Jaime, Dan Garrett was the original Blue Beetle, using a mystical scarab to gain superpowers. He was later succeeded by Ted Kord, a brilliant but non-powered inventor who relied on gadgets and intellect. Ted's version became a beloved figure in the Justice League International.
